Gourmet Ice

In May of 2010, Scotsman Ice Systems introduced the CU50 undercounter cube ice machine. The CU50 produces up to 65 pounds of gourmet ice in 24 hours (with air temperature at 70 degrees and water temperature at 50 degrees). The CU50 has a built-in storage bin that stores up to 26 pounds of ice. Scotsman describes Gourmet ice as a crystal-clear, slow-melting ice that won't change the flavor of mixed drinks and other beverages. The "cubes" are cylinder-shaped, slightly wider at the base, with dimensions of 1" x 1 1/8" x 1 1/4".

The Scotsman CU50 undercounter ice maker is ideal for commercial applications where space is at a premium. The space-saving machine has a 15-inch cabinet width and 34-inch height, convenient for locations anywhere ice is needed.



The CU50 features a water-quality sensor that detects hard-water conditions to ensure taste-free, odorless ice. The ice maker's control system purges mineral-laden water every harvest cycle, decreasing mineral build up and extending time between cleanings. The CU50 has a user-friendly control panel that shows when power is on and alerts operators to "no-water" conditions. It even indicates when scheduled cleanings are due. Finally, an optional, built-in drain pump is available for those installations that need it.
